About Nerys Jones

Pilates Instructor

Hi there! I’m Nerys Jones and I’m really passionate about helping ladies over the age of 35 reclaim their health, lose weight, reduce chronic pain and understand how our bodies change when we reach a certain age.

In my late twenties I started to notice that my back hurt almost every day. The things I loved doing in my spare time, like horse-riding and paddle-boarding were no longer an option and life started to look a little bleak.

This pain was caused by long hours working as a pharmacist, and I wanted a natural solution instead of a reliance on painkillers.  I found a miracle in Pilates!

Once I recovered, I decided that I wanted to help as many ladies as possible reclaim their health, leave chronic pain behind and love their lives again.

Pilates Qualifications

I’ve been a Pilates teacher for 12 years. I started with a Level 3 qualification but soon realised that the gold standard training: Body Control Pilates,  was much more suitable for ladies who are over 35. Body Control Pilates moves away from high intensity cardio, which doesn’t work for us, and towards smooth, accurate movements that really make the difference.

Why is My Pharmacy Qualification Relevant?

As a pharmacist, I was already medically trained in anatomy and I understand how any medication you’re taking may affect your well-being. Even more crucially, in the rare event that something more serious is going on, I know exactly where my own scope of expertise stops and when to refer you to your GP.

Conversational Hypnotherapy & Somatic Work

After some time working with 1 to 1 clients I became aware that the mind and the body are not separate. The truth is that most of my personal clients have needed to overcome limiting beliefs or faulty programming in order to get the best results.

This could really hamper your progress, unless of course your pilates teacher also happens to have a qualification in Conversational Hypnotherapy. In addition to talking to your unconscious mind, I’m also able to help with somatic work (releasing and rewiring the nervous system).

If you have a mindset block that’s getting in the way of your fitness goals then choose either the MELT Method or Body Sculpt Intense and I’ll design a bespoke Mind-Body programme to get you moving again!

Pilates Classes

Client Testimonials

“I attended one of Nerys' retreats in the tipi, I loved it! I tried the MELT technique for the first time - I wasn't sure what to expect, it was an unusual sensation rolling a ball under my foot and a roller under my back but the results were worth the funny feeling. Afterwards I felt very light and relaxed, and a lot of aches that I'd been ignoring were noticeably gone. Hoping to attend another soon!”

“Nerys is a fantastic teacher, helpful and makes the most of a session in teaching a class. Plenty of session times to choose from. Haven’t done lots of pilates but am really enjoying the classes.”
Sian Lloyd-Ellis
“1-1 sessions with Nerys on the reformer are amazing. I can’t recommend them highly enough. I was so surprised at how quickly my core and flexibility improved with the sessions along with my confidence in my ability. That in turn increased my desire to try new and harder exercises. If you’re thinking giving it a try just go for it!”
